Iraragorri formed, together with Lafuente, Bata, Chirri and Gorostiza, the mythical forward of the team that won between 1930 and 1936 four Leagues and four Cups, the best generation for triumphs of our Athletic. In the 1934 World Cup in Italy, playing against Brazil, he scored Spain’s first goal in a World Cup, this being the only time spain has beaten Brazil in a world championship. If the Civil War had not interrupted such an epic trajectory, what its fate would have been will belong forever in the field of hypothesis.
During the Civil War, he was part of the first selection of Euskadi in his tours of Europe and America, where he finally landed, first in Argentina, in the San Lorenzo de Almagro, and later in Mexico, in the Club España. He returned from exile in 1946, returning to play for Athletic with the new generation, later, as a rojiblanco coach between 1949 and 1952, he won the Cup in 1950.
