Welcome to Peña Zortzi
Aupa! We are a gang of friends, passionate about the Athletic Club, its history and its philosophy. As it could not be otherwise, the founding partners are eight. Our headquarters are in the hotel-restaurant Iraragorri Petit Komite which coincidentally have eight rooms and eight tables.
No, the truth is that none of this is casual. The idea of the peña arose in the after-dinner of those meals on the occasion of a match, an evening of boxing or a wine tasting. We were amazed by the story of José Iraragorri, aita de María and Joseba, and we always talked about doing something to make her known and preserve her memory.
We were developing that idea and we came up with the idea of creating an Athletic supporters’ club with the players with the number 8 as a common thread. This number has been worn by mythical players such as Iraragorri himself or Julen Guerrero.
